Low Self-Esteem & Penis Size: Ask the Experts

Q.  Ever since I was young I’ve had low self esteem…

…Even though according to PEGym my penis is longer than average I still see myself as inadequate and have even rejected opportunities for sex because of fear.  I used to be able to bring myself to go on dates I now can’t even do that anymore!  It’s gotten to the point where even my male enhancement training is being affected!  What can I do?!

Big Al:  It’s unfortunate, but your complaint is an increasingly common one. Not coincidentally, this time of year (the Holidays) is when these types of complaints seem to pick up.

If the nature of your complaint is manageable then self-introspection along with emotional visualization exercises should be of benefit.  An interesting exercise you can perform is to visualize yourself going back in time and confronting your younger self during moments where you felt the greatest shame.  Instead of visualizing your past self with loathing, switch gears toward compassion with firm guidance.  This wouldn’t be much different from the type of guidance you might give your future children under the same situation.  This combination of compassion with firm guidance should also apply when you’re tempted to retreat into current phases of self-loathing, since the worst thing you can do is to dwell on and allow those negative feelings to take over.

To add, avoid indulging in negative behaviors- like reading or engaging in “fear porn” type activities.  Do your best to focus your attention on positive activities.  To add, associate yourself with positive individuals. Relying on a trusted loved one can be very helpful in times of emotional crisis.

As mentioned before, the above advice is for MANAGEABLE emotional issues. If you aren’t able to manage your emotional issues (especially if you’re contemplating suicide) you should seek immediate qualified medical attention.

KIMBERLY’S NOTE: 

Body dysmorphia (obsession with a perceived body flaw) is a very common problem, so first know that you’re not alone. Even though, as you mentioned, you logically know you are larger than average, your heart doesn’t let you believe it.

This can be absolutely debilitating.

As you’ve stated, it’s even preventing you from dating – finding love – being happy.

With this much of an effect on your life, I would strongly suggest talking with a mental health professional. They can help you with exercises to overcome these insecurities and make you comfortable in your own skin. This is rarely something you can overcome on your own.

As Big Al mentioned, if at anytime this becomes overwhelming to you and even the thought of self-harm, at any level, comes into your mind – please, please, PLEASE seek help immediately.

Progress Not Perfection: A Perspective on Failure

Whenever you have a difficult goal you’d like to reach, to ensure success you likely take certain steps. It doesn’t matter if you’re looking for penis enlargement or weight loss or quitting smoking or some other difficult life change. There are steps you should take, to help you improve the chance you’ll reach your goal.

You quantify what that goal is. You make an action plan of what you’re going to do to get there. You likely even have smaller goals set, to help you keep motivated along the way.

Life gets in the way. You get busy. You screw up.

All those plans – all that hard work – wasted.

You’ve failed.

Or have you?

You don’t fail until you stop trying. So, get some perspective. We’re all human. We all make mistakes. And, we all have things get in the way of reaching our success. The trick is — the people who eventually succeed are those that never give up!

I’m going to give a weight loss example from a member using Isagenix, because I think it’s something a lot of people can relate to. They’ve been doing well the first week. They even lost six pounds! But, on Saturday night, they had a company Christmas party and kind of went off the rails. Monday I received a PM about how they failed.

No! This member didn’t fail!

Two steps forward, one step backward is still one step forward!

Sure, maybe they made some bad choices at the party. And, maybe they gained back some of the weight they had lost, BUT they still are ahead of the game! And, as long as they keep moving forward – making progress – they definitely haven’t failed!

Progress, not perfection.

So, whatever your goals – whatever actions you need to take to get to those goals – keep trying! Don’t give up. Most importantly, don’t beat yourself up if you screw up.

If you miss a day or two of your male enhancement routine – that’s OK! Get back on track! If you don’t wear your extender or don’t pump as often as you had planned – that’s OK! Just get back to it!

Keep moving forward, even if you slip backward a little, still climb! You’ll get to the top, if you don’t give up!

Man With World’s Largest Penis is Registered as “Disabled” Due to Penis Size

Anyone who says penis enlargement is a scam needs to talk to Roberto Esquivel Cabrera. Cabrera, a 54-year-old from northern Mexico, has stretched his penis to a startling 18.9 inches in length. It is now thought to be the world’s largest penis.

However, Cabrera is also a cautionary tale of taking a good idea and going way too far.

Cabrera said, “I cannot wear a uniform like anybody in the companies and also I cannot get on my knees. I cannot run fast and so the companies think badly of me. They say that they will call me, but they never do.”

 

Due to his debilitating penis size, the Mexican government has registered him as disabled. He now lives off of government handouts.

Cabera has been however offered work in the adult entertainment industry. He’s been offered to come to a porn studio in Prague to film a medical scene, though apparently it would be more comical than erotic.

Medical professionals have encouraged Cabrera to have a penis reduction. However, he refuses, despite the issues he has. “He’d rather have a penis bigger than the rest of the people,” Dr Jesus David Salazar Gonzalez said. “In Latin culture whoever has the bigger penis is more macho. It’s something that makes him different to the rest of the people and makes him feels special.”

Mr Cabera notes, “I am famous because I have the biggest penis in the world. I am happy with my penis, I know nobody has the size I have.”

The sheer size of Mr Cabrera’s penis causes him a number of health problems, including frequent urinary tract infections because not all his urine escapes his lengthy foreskin.

While he keeps his colossal member wrapped in bandages to escape chaffing. He is also unable to sleep chest down and has to put his penis on its own pillow to escape discomfort during the night.

Penis Whitening: A Dangerous Fad

Enter a new (and dangerous) fad — penis whitening.

Currently popular in Thailand, we’ve had a few posts about it, in the recent year, on our forums. So, it won’t surprise me when this trend starts affecting men around the globe. However, as noted above, this cosmetic procedure can actually be quite dangerous.

Thailand’s public health ministry has issued a warning over a new and bizarre trend of penis whitening, which has been linked to the country’s association of paleness with success.  Skin whitening is popular across south east Asia, as darker skin is associated with outdoor, manual labor and being poorer, with a wide range of bleaching products on the market.

In Thailand the phallic fad has unexpectedly extended to men who believe a paler penis and groin area looks more attractive. But health officials have urged people to rethink undergoing the procedure, which can lead to scarring, inflammation, infection, and “nasty looking spots.”

“Penis laser whitening is not necessary, wastes money and may give more negative effects than positive ones,” the health ministry’s Dr Thongchai Keeratihuttayakorn said in a statement.

The warning was issued after video footage of a clinic carrying out the unusual procedure went viral online. Laser bleaching of private areas is carried out by using a type of laser which damages or kills the cells that produce melanin – the pigment that gives skin its color.

“Patients started to ask about penis whitening, and so we started the treatment a month later,” said Popol Tansakul, the marketing manager of Lelux Hospital. “They are popular among gay men and transvestites who take good care of their private parts. They want to look good in all areas.”

Around 100 men visit Lelux Hospital each month for the procesure, Mr Popol added.

“I wanted to feel more confident in my swimming briefs,” one patient who had his penis whitened told the BBC’s Thai service. Of course, I wonder how having a whiter penis affects feeling confident in your swim trunks…. I mean, unless your swimsuit is see through. Hmmm…

On top of being dangerous, skin bleaching is controversial in Thailand for being linked to racism, with one cosmetics firm withdrawing an advert which linked success with fairer skin.

“In my world there is tough competition. If I don’t take care of myself, everything I have built, the whiteness I have invested in, could be gone,” Thai actress Cris Horwang said in the advert.

Her skin then turns black and another, paler woman walks into view of the camera, at which point the actress says: “If I were white, I would win.”

Seoul Secret withdrew the advert quickly and issued an apology, saying they only wished to promote self-improvement of “personality, appearance, skills, and professionalism.”

From my point of view – leave the color of your penis alone! This cosmetic procedure definitely isn’t worth the risk.

  1. Challenge Negative Thinking – We all have negative thoughts occasionally. The trick is to recognize these negative thoughts – acknowledge them – then ask yourself challenging questions about the thought, to get a more realistic perspective on the situation – then take positive actions. EXAMPLE: Despite a goal to lose weight, you put off going to the gym all week, and ate a pint of ice cream for breakfast. Negative thought – I have no willpower, and I’ll never lose weight. Acknowledge that this is a negative thought and not necessarily true. Ask yourself Is this really true? Do I really have NO willpower? Then think about it – No, you’ve had willpower in the past. In fact, maybe you lost some weight in the past, proving you CAN do it. Now, take actions to correct the issue that is causing the negative thinking. Get up and go to the gym. Start tracking your food. Have a healthy lunch and dinner. Most importantly – when you take those positive actions, pat yourself mentally on the back! Remind yourself – See!   2. Get Moving – Even if it’s just a 30-minute easy stroll in the evening after dinner – take some time to go out and do something every, single day. Studies have shown people are happier when they are up and moving around than when they’re simply sitting or lying down. PLUS, you get the added happy bonus of getting in sunshine (proven to improve mood)!

  3. Start Your Day with Positive Affirmations – The SNL skit of Stuart Smalley and his, “I’m good enough; I’m smart enough, and gosh darn it, people like me!” was funny – BUT has a lot of merit! When you get up in the morning, head to the bathroom and look yourself in the eye in the mirror. Tell yourself 3 positive things about yourself. You’ve now started your day off on a positive note! Now, list 3 things in your life you’re grateful for, and you’ve started your day with positivity AND gratitude!

  4. Volunteer – There is nothing better to remind yourself how blessed you are than by helping those less fortunate. There are so many opportunities to volunteer – there truly is something for everyone! From delivering meals for Meals on Wheels, driving patients to doctor appointments for the American Cancer Society, helping out with Special Olympics, being a patient advocate for a local abuse shelter, assisting with a local animal rescue, serving meals at a homeless shelter, and SO MUCH MORE! Not only will volunteering help you realize the blessings you have in your life, but you’ll also be helping others in need! Win-Win!

  5. Nourish Your Body & Get Sleep – If you want to be happier – start eating better. High carbohydrate (especially junk food and fast food) lead to blood sugar spikes and the inevitable crashes, which can cause you to be “hangry.” Start adding more lean protein into your diet, skip the bread and potatoes, and fill half your plate with veggies and fruit at mealtime.  Plus, make sure you’re getting a good night’s sleep – going to bed just a 1/2-hour earlier can make a world of difference the next morning on your  mood!

  6. Let it Go – Anger – Like Elsa on Frozen – let it go, when it comes to anger. If you find yourself becoming irritated by little things, take a moment and ask yourself, “Is this really worth getting upset about? Is my anger/irritation going to change the situation?” If the answer is no – LET IT GO! Remove yourself from the situation. Take a break and do something else until you no longer feel angry.

  7. Be Happy with Good Enough – Satisficers (yes, satisficers) make a decision once their criteria are met. When they find the hotel or the pasta sauce that has the qualities they want, they’re satisfied. Maximizers want to make the best possible decision. Even if they see a bicycle or a backpack that meets their requirements, they can’t make a decision until they’ve examined every option. Satisficers tend to be happier than maximizers. Maximizers expend more time and energy reaching decisions, and they’re often anxious about their choices. Sometimes good enough is good enough.

An Open Letter to My Fellow Ladies: Please Stop Talking About Your Partner’s Penis Size

Please, for not only the sake of the general male populace’s psyche, but for our happiness as well, stop talking about your partner’s penis size.

Don’t call it “cute.”

Don’t compare it to other penises you’ve had in the past or seen in porn.

Definitely, in the heat of anger, don’t think a derogatory remark on his size is an appropriate insult to sling.

It’s not nice. It’s not helpful. And, we all pay for it, in the long run.

Forget cyber-bullying – penis size comments have done more harm then all the snarky, mean girl Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and SnapChat posts combined!

I’ve been a part of the PEGym family for more than 7 years now, and at first, I thought snide “small dick” comments were only made rarely. That, sure, there were bitchy, immature girls out there who callously told their partner about a HUGE ex or that they blatantly wish their BFs dick was bigger — but they were few and far between, right? I mean, why would you try to make someone you care about feel bad?

Sadly, my years of talking to tens of thousands of members has realized one truth — these kinds of comments happen quite frequently. And, the result is often the same — a guy doubting his self-worth, with increased physical insecurities, as some girl has just taken a swipe at the most personal part of him – his penis.

So, what harm can these comments really do? Shouldn’t men be a little less sensitive? Sticks and stones and all of that?

The reality is a guy can’t unhear a comment that even implies that his penis is less-than-desirable. Not only, as I mentioned before, does it negatively affect his self-image, but this self-doubt affects every aspect of his life. Romantic relationships suffer. If he’s in one with the girl who has made the comment, he worries that he’s not enough man for her and that she’s unhappy and is going to leave him. This hurt and insecurity often leads to jealousy and anger. It’s often the beginning of the end of the relationship.

Even if she apologizes and tries to reassure him that there’s absolutely nothing wrong with his manhood, he’ll always remember the hurtful comment.

You can’t unring that bell.

This insecurity can even negatively affect other personal and professional relationships.

Ladies, think of it this way. Would you want your partner to say something negative about your breast size? Maybe comment that his ex had nicer, perkier breasts? How would it feel if he said he thought your labia were a little long and floppy? Or that he really prefers a tighter vagina? What about even a simple comment about your weight – that his ex had abs he could bounce a quarter off of – or the perfect ass?

Obviously, we don’t want our partner to talk about how they like something on their ex more than on us. Even in the heat of the moment, or after a bad breakup, we don’t want them going to their buddies to say our ass was riddled with cellulite or we gave crappy blow jobs or our boobs were saggy.

Let’s use the Golden Rule when it comes to talking about men’s penises.

“But, Kimberly,” you say. “What if my partner asks me about his size or sizes of my exes? What do I do?!?”

First – MEN: STOP DOING THIS!!!!! Seriously – STOP! It’s like a woman asking you, “Does this dress make me look fat?” Or, “Do you think she’s pretty?” It’s a loaded question.

Second – Answer with this, “I’ve never paid attention to size. All I know is you rock my world, baby!!”

So, please, ladies – let’s make 2018 a kinder, happier year by making a vow to never discuss the size of a guy’s penis again. The world will definitely be a better place!

Penis Enlargement Success Stories: How Long Did it Take to Gain Your First 1/2-Inch

However, one of the threads I enjoy reading the most is about member’s stories about how long it took to reach their first 1/2-inch. It shows just how unique we all are. That there’s no “one-size-fits-all” program. That some members gain that first 1/2-inch quickly, but others take longer. Now add the way men have reached this first goal and it helps new members realize there are a myriad of paths you can take to get where you want to be!

Let’s take a look at some of our most recent entries in this thread,

First half inch took me over 6 months, but that’s because I wasn’t doing it right.

After registering here 10 months ago, I’ve gained just over an inch in erect length (total gain 1.6 inches so far) and a full inch in girth.

paardarshie’s story is pretty common. Just like a traditional workout, if you’re not doing the exercises properly, at the proper intensity and/or at the proper frequency, you’re not going to see results. So glad he’s figured it out and happy to have him at PEGym!

I have been silently working here for almost 2 years. And I went from 6.75 to a little over 8. I experiment randomly with several different methods that are popular here to try to make muscle confusion sort of like sprinting and walking sprinting and walking sprinting and walking. Up from 5.5 girth to 6 girth. It’s not a fast process it’s going to take a while and commitment from anyone. So either way that you think about it you just have to keep pushing forward and you will eventually reach your goal. Basically what I am saying is it is not a Sprint, it is a marathon. GapWedge is so right! Body modification of any kind takes time! I love the interval training method he used to gain 1.25 inches! That and tenacity and consistency is clearly the key to his success!

Theaceus07 reached this initial benchmark with just manual stretching. That’s awesome! Enlargement devices, like penis pumps and penis extenders, can help make the penis enlargement process easier and faster, but with consistent effort, manual penis exercises can be effective in getting gains.

Even men who have a healthy percentage of body fat can suffer from gynecomastia. The result is the same though – embarrassment and insecurity can negatively affect a man’s personal and professional relationships.

What Causes Man Boobs?

Males mostly make a hormone called testosterone, which guides their sexual growth during puberty. But males also make some estrogen — the hormone that steers sexual growth in girls. When a boy is going through puberty, or when an older man’s body makes less testosterone, the balance of the two hormones changes.

Sometimes when that happens, a higher percentage of estrogen causes male breast tissue to swell. About half of adolescent boys and as many as two-thirds of men older than 50 will have this to some degree.

So, Why Do Man Boobs Happen?

A lot of things can trigger the hormone imbalance that causes gynecomastia, and many times the exact cause is unknown.  However, here are the most common reasons why males get man boobs:

  • Puberty resulting in a hormonal imbalance
  • Aging – as men get older and testosterone naturally drops, this can result in a hormonal imbalance
  • Testicular injury, resulting in decreased testosterone
  • Thyroid issues – altering hormonal production
  • Some cancers – especially lung, pituitary gland and adrenal gland
  • Obesity – men who are obese produce more estrogen
  • Prescription drugs, especially for heart disease, cancer, depression, and ulcers
  • Illegal drug use – especially marijuana, anabolic steroids and heroin
  • Kidney failure
  • Liver disease

Infants also can get gynecomastia  from estrogen passed through their mother’s milk.

How to Get Rid of Man Boobs

If you suspect you may have gynecomastia, the first step is to talk to a physician. Only through a physical examination can they determine if it is man boobs or something more serious, like cancer. Once it’s determined to be man boobs, the treatment will depend on your age and the suspected cause.

If you are overweight, your first course of action would be to lose the excess fat. This will not only help decrease the fat in your body, overall, but also help reduce the over abundance estrogen your body produces, which is common in overweight men. A high protein, low-glycemic carb diet, such as offered with Isagenix, combined with cardio and strength training, is the healthiest way to lose excess weight and keep or increase your lean muscle.

You may be referred to an endocrinologist, who can assist you with getting your hormone levels back in balance. If your man boobs are due to some other underlying cause, that will be treated.  In the most extreme cases, you may decide to pursue a surgical alternative – this can include liposuction to remove the fat or even a masectomy.

Big Al:  The human mind has a very large range.  On the low end of the emotional spectrum we can wallow in fear and self-loathing.  As we rise through the emotional spectrum we ascend through the emotions of courage, reason, and peace/proficiency.  The path to the higher emotional states comes through utilizing your mind and by mastering yourself.  You alluded to performing at the level of animality.  As a man, you can develop yourself to go far above what you’ve be able to do without proper training and conditioning.  If you automatically see yourself as weak and leave yourself to the mercy of your lower mind, it’ll be difficult for you to improve your situation.  Focus on developing your courage and make the attempt at being objective about your performance and you’ll be able to condition yourself through training and by confidently undertaking real life experiences.

Q. What effect does coffee have on erections?…

…  I find when I drink a large coffee I get jittery and tend to turtle pretty hard.

Big Al:  Your reaction would depend on your tolerance to caffeine.

Small doses of caffeine may actually have a beneficial effect on erections. When excess is consumed and side effects like jitteriness is observed, vasoconstriction is induced.  This can have a negative effect on erections.

The Problem With GMO Wheat

genetically modified wheat dangersWe were talking on a thread in the forums about testosterone, and that lead to a brief discussion on genetically modified foods/organisms (GMOs).

What Are GMOs?

Genetically modified organisms (this includes plants & animals used for both food or other livestock production, like sheep for wool), are created by the genes of one species are combined with the genes of an unrelated plant or animal. Think Island of Dr. Moreau, and you’re not  too far off!

The genes combined with our plants and animals sometimes come from other animals or plants, but also can come from insects, bacteria, viruses, even human DNA. The purpose is typically to create a hardier species or one that gives a greater production yield. The debate continues to be how these genetic changes affect us when we consume the plants and/or meat.

Of particular interest is wheat, since it is in so much of what we consume on a daily basis.

How Wheat Has Changed Over the Last 70 Years

Wheat has changed. The modern wheat we eat today is not the wheat our great-grandparents ate, in the 1950’s. As the author of Wheat Belly, cardiologist Dr. William Davis, noted we never heard about our great-grandma strapping on a pair of running shoes and going out for a run every day. Yet, despite the fact that our generation exercises more frequently, on average, we are, on average, more obese.

  • Calorie consumption, especially in larger portion sizes, has a significant impact.
  • The almost criminally misguided “Food Pyramid”, published in 1992, with it’s recommendation that we eat 2 to 4 servings of carbohydrates at EVERY meal, and the “low-fat” diet craze that fell on its heels, had an impact.
  • Exacerbating these 2 factors has been what we’ve done to wheat.

In the 1970’s wheat underwent hybridization, and later in the 1980’s genetic modifications reduced it’s size, and increased yield. Farmers loved this hardier, more productive wheat. But, the changes to characteristics of wheat changed the way our body reacts to its consumption.

Most significantly, this new wheat was found to be an appetite stimulant.

As far back as 2009 the American Academy of Environmental Medicine was sounding the alarm about Genetically Modified Foods. Two physicians: Dean and Armstrong presented a statement paper in which they said:

It has been the practice that “safety assessment of GM foods has been based on the idea of “substantial equivalence” such that “if a new food is found to be substantially equivalent in composition and nutritional characteristics to an existing food, it can be regarded as safe as the conventional food. However, several animal studies indicate serious health risks associated with GM food consumption including infertility, immune dysregulation, accelerated aging, dysregulation of genes associated with cholesterol synthesis, insulin regulation, cell signaling, and protein formation, and changes in the liver, kidney, spleen and gastrointestinal system.

Money Makes the World Go Round and the GM Wheat Popular

Despite concerns, genetic modification became mainstream, thanks to the money that was to be had.

For the farmers, it was a boon. They had a hardier crop, that produced more wheat per acre than ever before.  Costs were down and production was up.

For the manufacturers, it was also a boon. The appetite stimulant of the new wheat meant demand increased.

For the seed producers, like Monsanto, it was a boon.

For the pharmaceutical industry, it was also a boon. Increased insulin resistance and diabetes was on the rise due to the higher glycemic index of this new wheat. The pancreas has a harder time producing enough insulin to meet this higher level of blood sugar. Over time, this higher load wears on the body and can lead to not just insulin resistance, but Type 2 diabetes. The treatment of diabetes, as well as obesity, is a business worth trillions of dollars annually. In fact, according to diabetes.org, 1 in 11 Americans has pre-diabetes and are in danger of developing Type 2 diabetes.

With so much money being made across multiple, politically powerful industries, GM wheat took over the market. And, it’s in nearly everything. It’s not just in breads, pastries and pastas, it’s in food we don’t necessarily think of as having “wheat.”

  • Most processed food
  • Soups
  • Salad dressing
  • Candy
  • Granola
  • Pickles
  • Most packaged foods that have “natural flavorings” as an ingredient
  • French fries
  • Soy sauce
  • And, SO much more!

If it’s a food that comes in a box, bag, bottle, or can, unless it specifically says that it is “gluten-free” it likely has some form of wheat in it.

Why Not Simply Avoid GM Wheat?

I wish it were as easy as avoiding GM wheat. There are some bakeries producing non-GMO bread, for instance. However, genetically modified wheat continues to be found in fields not approved to produce GM wheat.  This, obviously, leads to a concern.

However, even with non-GMO verified products, conditions such as leaky gut syndrome can occur.

 

GM Wheat: A Conclusion

For some people, wheat – even genetically modified wheat – isn’t an issue. Count yourself lucky if this is the case! However, for many, it’s a significant health concern.

If your weight is an issue, if your blood sugar numbers are high, talk to your doctor about the possibility of going gluten-free. Reducing carb intake is likely a dietary choice they’ll support, in general. And, if you’re jonesing for a sandwich or a cookie, there are lots of gluten-free options on the market (although I recommend still making your own, to avoid preservatives and other unhealthy additives that may be in these pre-packaged foods).
