Need an Erectile Dysfunction Cure? Never Suffer from Impotence Again

There is a lot of fear and anxiety centering on erectile dysfunction — and rightly so. No man wants to lose his ability to perform sexually. The information below, as well as our treatment guide linked above, will help you understand some of the basics of erectile dysfunction.

Erectile Dysfunction Overview & Facts

Erectile dysfunction or ED is sometimes also known as impotence. Let’s look at some erectile dysfunction facts:

  • Erectile dysfunction occurs when not enough blood gets to the penis or the penis fails to trap the blood inside of it.
  • ED can be caused by a medical problem, such as heart or arterial disease.
  • It can also be caused by stress, depression, poor self-esteem, or anxiety.
  • ED may be more common in Hispanic men and in those with a history of diabetes, obesity, smoking, and hypertension.
  • Other medical conditions that can contribute to ED include – kidney disease, and multiple sclerosis.
  • Surgery can also lead to erectile dysfunction. Surgery, including treatments for prostate cancer, bladder cancer, or BPH can sometimes damage nerves and blood vessels near the penis.
  • Some medications can cause erectile dysfunction, including certain blood pressure drugs, antidepressants, and tranquilizers..
  • As men age, ED becomes more of a concern. Approximately 5% of 40-year-old men have ED. For 65-year-olds, it’s between 15% and 25%.
  • Although older men may need more physical stimulation to get an erection, erectile dysfunction is NOT a normal part of aging.
  • Having trouble getting or maintaining an erection once in a rare while, especially if you’ve been drinking or are tired, is not erectile dysfunction. However, if you have trouble frequently, it’s time to speak to a doctor.
  • Some studies have shown that ED is a strong predictor of heart attack, stroke, and death from cardiovascular disease. For this reason, if you’re having trouble with erections, it’s important to always talk to a medical professional, to rule out potential heart disease.
