Yup, we’re a bit penis-centric here at PEGym. Not a big surprise. 
So, let’s look at some interesting penis facts you may not have know! This is just the first part in our Interesting Penis Facts series.
- The word “penis” is derived from the Latin word that means “tail.” Although some people use the word “phallus” to mean penis, that’s incorrect usage. Phallus is instead the word used to describe penis symbols or images.
- The plural of penis is penises or penes. It is definitely not “peni”.
- Most mammals have a penis bone called the baculum or os penis. However, neither humans nor horses have this bone. Despite this, humans can suffer a “penile fracture,” even though there’s no bone to break, instead the thick membrane around the erectile tissue tears.
- Body size does not always correlate to penis size, even in other primates. The gorilla penis is, on average, only about 1 1/2 inches in length. Whereas the much smaller chimpanzee’s penis is typically double that length. Of course, man is the big primate winner, with having the largest penis both in absolute terms and in proportion to its body size.
- I’m not a proponent of circumcision, but interestingly one circumcized foreskin from an infant can grow 23,000 square meters of skin grafts for burn victims.
- Only one out of every 400 men is flexible enough to give himself oral sex.
- King Fatefehi of Tonga is likely the king of all players. Between the years of 1770 and 1784, he deflowered 37,800 women. That’s approximately 7 women a day, every day.
- Approximately 100 men globally have the condition known as Diphallus. This is where a man is born with two penises. Check out our article here — Man with 2 Penises… Now I’ve Seen Everything!
- Most marsupials have a bifurcated penis — one penis that is split into two. This is to address the fact that most marsupial females have two vaginas. Of course, the male echidna is even strangers, with it’s four-headed penis.
- Smoking can decrease your penis length by a full centimeter. The calcified blood vessels from smoking result in less blood being able to make its way into the penis. So, not only will you have a smaller penis, but also a softer penis.
